The Sound and Silence seminar began on Friday 21 September with a lecture & gallery talk by Jørgen Larsson, curator of Sleppet at Lydgalleriet and Galleri 3,14. The day continued with a screening of Step Across The Border (1990), a film following musician Fred Frith on journeys around the world, meeting and playing with a variety of other musicians. Not on the Sound and Silence programme, but recommended anyway, is a concert by Espen Sommer Eide (Phonophani) at HKS Kloster, promoted by Rakett as part of the Curating Degree Zero project they are currently showing in Bergen. The opening was on Thursday 20th. September and the programme continues until 7th. October. The Sound and Silence programme continues on Thursday 27th. September with a lecture at 10.00 by Robert Worby. His most recent BBC radio programme (Hear and Now) featuring interviews and live recordings with Terry Riley can be heard on BBC listen again.
